BRS

Terms of Service

Effective July 5, 2026 · bbq.fan

These terms are a contract between you and BRS ("we", "us") covering the BRS website and app at bbq.fan. By using BRS you agree to them.

1. Your account

You must be at least 13 to use BRS. Accounts are tied to a phone number — one phone, one palate, one account. Sign-in is by one-time code sent to your number; you're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping control of that number. By creating an account you consent to receive sign-in codes by SMS (message and data rates may apply — that's carriers, not us).

2. Your content

You own the ratings, reviews, and photos you post. By posting, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and use them to operate and promote BRS — including showing your best tray shots on a joint's page next to your handle. You promise your content is yours to post and doesn't break the law or anyone's rights.

3. House rules

The whole point of BRS is scores you can trust. So:

4. Scores and trust

BRS scores are computed from community ratings, weighted by reviewer trust, and are opinions — not statements of fact and not a guarantee that the brisket will change your life. We may weight, quarantine, or remove ratings, adjust trust standing, and add or remove joints, at our discretion, to protect score integrity. We moderate content and may remove anything that breaks these terms.

5. Claimed pages

Claiming a joint's page is for owners and their authorized staff only, and everything you publish through Pit Desk (hours, menu, prices, sell-out status, replies) must be truthful. We may revoke claims we can't verify or that are abused.

6. Our stuff

BRS — the name, the ring, the scores, the software — is ours. These terms don't give you any right to use our branding, or to resell or republish BRS data, without written permission.

7. Disclaimers

BRS is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Joints' hours, menus, prices, and sell-out times come from owners and the community and may be wrong. If you drive an hour and the brisket is sold out, we feel your pain, but we are not liable for it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or data, arising from your use of BRS; and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 or what you paid us in the past year (BRS is currently free, so: $50).

9. Ending things

You can stop using BRS or ask us to delete your account any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or threaten the integrity of the scores. Sections 2 and 6–11 survive termination.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; if we make material changes we'll post notice on the site before they take effect. Using BRS after changes take effect means you accept them.

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and disputes belong in the state or federal courts of Texas. Questions: support@bbq.fan · See also our Privacy Policy.
